Do you need supplements to care for your health?
Natural does not always mean safe. Learn what to consider before taking supplements and what to share when seeking a comprehensive care plan.

Need should be assessed
A supplement is not automatically needed because you feel tired, exercise or want better skin. Its usefulness depends on the product and a specific need. Assessing symptoms, diet and medical history helps determine whether an underlying cause should be investigated first.
Natural does not mean harmless
Supplements can contain active substances, cause adverse effects and interact with medicines. Combining several products or assuming that more provides greater benefit adds complexity. The label and composition matter as much as the seller’s recommendation.
What to bring to your consultation
Bring readable photographs of packaging, ingredients and the amounts you use. Include vitamins, herbal products and training or weight-loss formulas. Mention symptoms and when they began; simply describing a product as natural leaves important details unexplored.
Extra care before procedures
Some supplements can affect bleeding or interact with medicines used in procedures. Tell the team in advance of a planned intervention. Do not stop prescribed treatment or replace medicines with supplements without individual professional advice.
An informed decision
Ask why a product is proposed, what evidence supports it and how its usefulness will be reviewed. A sound plan also allows for not supplementing when there is no clear indication.
