Movement does not require a gym

Physical activity includes walking, cycling for transport, dancing and everyday tasks that involve movement. It is not limited to organized sport. Accessible, enjoyable activities are easier to fit into a realistic week and maintain over time.

A reference, not a competition

WHO recommends a combination of aerobic activity and muscle strengthening for adults, adapted to individual abilities. The general reference for moderate activity is 150 to 300 minutes per week; it does not mean reaching that amount on the first day.

Start from your current level

If you have been inactive, starting with small amounts and progressing gradually is a practical approach. Short walking trips and breaks from prolonged sitting can be part of that beginning, alongside goals you can sustain.

When to personalize the plan

Chronic conditions, pregnancy, mobility limitations or symptoms during exertion change the discussion. Ask how to adapt intensity and exercise type. The aim is better health and function, rather than exercising through signs that need assessment.

A starting goal

Choose one activity, a feasible time and a simple way to record consistency. Discuss barriers and preferences during your consultation to build a plan that fits your life.
